The universe and its insane complexity...?

the more questions we answer about it, the more questions pop up, the complexity of the universe is either infinite or its complexity is insanely immense that we are far from comprehending it all... but either way, it seems to me that the more we discover the harder it becomes to discover the following levels, for example we discovered dark energy and dark matter long ago yet it's very difficult to know what they exactly are.. am i right ?
