Natural bee/jacket/wasp repellent?

I like to be outside but bee/wasp allergy runs in my family. A sting could quickly kill us. Well I like to garden (growing food) and I hang my clothes up (which tends to have a citrus scent...I will be changing soap because of that.) I'd rather NOT kill them. Like I said, I'd like to grow food and humming birds around here tend to only eat off trees. In short, I'd like something to keep them away from me. Is there such a thing? I'd prefer not to use chemicals...poisoning me and the environment.
