My teacher's making me write a book report on All Quiet on the Western Front but I don't understand it.?

It is at my reading level but I find myself dozing off every few sentences. It's really boring but I have to get it done by next Friday. I finished the book but all I understood was that Paul hated war, Muller got a dead guy's boots, they beat up himmostoss, they get injured, one by one they die, they break a bottle for the nurse to close the door, and Kat died at the end. I still don't get the point of the book.
